JOB OVERVIEW:

The right individual will be a self-starter with a strong attention to detail and the ability to get the job done. Dual Director of Sales position will be responsible for growing group and local transient revenue for the purpose of driving TOP LINE REVENUE and GROWING MARKET SHARE.

A minimum of one (1) year experience in hotel sales, preferably, Marriott, as a Sales Manager or Director of Sales, respectively and a proven track record of success is required. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Director of Sales position is responsible for group and local transient sales while demonstrating great customer service. Reports to the Regional Director of Sales and the General Manager to support various sales functions and initiatives. Ensure financial and revenue goals are achieved and sales productivity benchmarks are met.

· Prospecting for new group and local account business, constant monitoring of competition and marketplace in general in order to shift market share; must be prepared and able to react under fluctuating market conditions.

· Meet or exceed pre-determined booking goals for guest room revenue; meet or exceed budgeted costs and revenue on a monthly average with the liberty to negotiate as needed on individual functions within established guidelines yet maintaining the overall revenue goals; meet or exceed monthly activity goals.

The Director of Sales is responsible for prompt handling (within the business day) of inquiry calls and monitoring the efficient flow of paperwork relative to confirming function details to the client.

· Solicit new and repeat guest room and meeting business. Maintain client base of key accounts and conventions. Determine the guest’s needs, space availability, and meeting details.

· Make outside sales calls and solicitation calls to obtain business. Also utilize site inspections to book business.

· Monitors pricing, service levels, facilities and function activities at competitive facilities to ensure the Hotel remains in a competitive position.

· Evaluate a potential piece of business with Area Director of Sales for profitability and overall benefit to the Hotel.

· Complete coordination of the Sales group functions; accurate and timely preparation of detailed Sales Contracts and Group Resumes as necessary to ensure a common quality understanding of what the client is to receive in terms of products and services. Review function contracts prior to distribution to client and hotel staff.

· Follows up on the progress of groups booked, such as room night pick up, rooming lists, cut off dates,

· Follow up on bookings and solicit repeat business.

· Represent hotel in community affairs and industry related events.

· Prepares periodic sales reports.

· Prepare weekly activity report to include all financial booking performance and personal call reports for active solicitation performed and upload to Basecamp website.

· Strong oral and written communication skills combined with computer, presentation and negotiation skills.

· Ability to fully Qualify Accounts, Identify the Decision Maker and Advance the Sale

· Knowledge of selling in multiple market segments including: Corporate, SMERF, and Association

· Strong oral and written communication skills combined with computer, presentation and negotiation skills.

· Ability to understand and analyze STAR Data

· Excellent time-management skills

· Strong decision-making capabilities and strategizing skills.

· Demonstrates creativity in finding solutions to problems.

· Finds the win-win when resolving conflicts.

· Understanding of various market conditions and influencers.
